What is “Founder’s Week” at Bridging?
An annual celebration of our Founder Fran and the organization he founded in 1987. Beginning in 2022, we are setting aside time to celebrate the legacy of Fran Heitzman, his values in action and our history.
Join us for one or many of the following activities during the 2022 Founder’s Week. All are welcome!

WHEN: July 25 – 30, 2022
MONDAY: July 25
- Make some noise for Fran!
- Donate to the week-long cookware and bakeware drive!
- New and gently-used donations are accepted.
- Our shelves need a jolt of donations to better serve clients and 100 households a week!
- Submit and tag your favorite Fran In Action picture on social media (@bridgingmn): Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
WEDNESDAY: July 27
- Join us for the Bridging Garden Dedication in BLOOMINGTON
- Noon to 1:00 p.m., with a short program at 12:30 p.m. A few words from Fran’s family, Mark Wilkening (executive director), and a client/agency testimonial.
- We will be outside in the garden.
- Refreshments provided.
THURSDAY: July 28
- Join us for the Bridging Garden Dedication in ROSEVILLE
- Noon to 1:00 p.m., with a short program at 12:30. A few words from Fran’s family, Mark Wilkening (executive director), and a client/agency testimonial.
- We will be outside in the garden.
- Refreshments provided.
FRIDAY: July 29
- We are celebrating Bridging’s birthday today – 35 years! Learn more.
- Participate in a guided tour of the warehouse and learn how you can become involved!
SATURDAY: July 30
- Cookware and bakeware collection ends.
- Stop by between 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. to drop off your donations today!
