Serving Over 5,000 Minnesota Families Each Year

Founded in 1987, Bridging is a non-profit 501(c)(3), operating 100,000 square feet of warehouse space in Bloomington and Roseville.  Bridging was founded on the simple concept that community resources should be shared with those in need.  Our purpose is to "bridge the gap" between the "haves" and the "have nots". 

Our mission is to provide the economically disadvantaged with a one-time gift of quality furniture and household items which helps to stabilize and improve their lives while effectively using community resources. Through a network of over 200 social service agencies, eligible clients are referred to our warehouse for a once-in-a-lifetime shopping experience. Program services and community needs continue to climb across the state. On July 2, 2009, Bridging served family number 50,000.  Read more about this historic milestone. 

In 2009, Bridging served 5,146 families (15,173 individuals) in the Twin Cities area. For every $300 donated to Bridging, we can help another family in need. Check out the 2009 stats.

  • The 12th Annual SUBWAY® BEDRACE FOR BRIDGING, presented by Cities 97 will take off at Buck Hill Saturday, March 6, 2010.  Registration is now open!  Celebrate Founder Fran's 85th Birthday this year.

  • Visit Bridging's booth at the HandsOn Twin Cities Expo - February 20, 2010
    Join us for the fifth annual HandsOn Twin Cities Volunteer Expo!  Visit with representatives from over 125 area non-profits and enjoy entertainment, speed volunteering activities, silent auction, prize drawings and more.

  • Big Thank You to our friends at IKEA for Saturday night’s IKEA Twin Cities charity Bedrooms for Bridging event.  IKEA Twin Cities are getting ready to give their showroom a new facelift and new displays, but before they did that they hosted a charity bedroom auction with all proceeds from the event going directly to Bridging.  $2,675.00 was raised by the enthusiastic crowd that came out to bid.  Bridging has been one of IKEA’S charity partners since their grand opening and we are so grateful for their continued support and partnership.  Thank you to all our friends at IKEA who helped make this event such a success.Read more >

  • Year-End Campaign - We made it!

    Bridging kicked off the 2009 year-end campaign on October 26 with a goal to raise $300,000. 

    Thanks to everyone for making the 2009 year-end campaign a smashing success.  Due to your generous commitment Bridging served over 5,100 families in 2009.   The year-end campaign concluded at $340,792 which is 114% of goal.  Thanks again and we look forward to your continued involvement in this New Year.  Read More>>>

 

  • The eighth annual SUBWAY® Bring a Blanket Drive was held Sunday, December 6, 2009 at all SUBWAY restaurants in central Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Due to the generosity of Minnesotans and Wisconsinites, over 380 local SUBWAY® restaurants collected over 10,000 blankets in one day. The blankets will be distributed in 2010 throughout the Twin Cities by Bridging and by other local community organizations in out-state areas where SUBWAY restaurants are located.  Read more>
