Bridging Staff Spotlight: Bailey Troth, Bloomington Warehouse Floor Supervisor

Why does Bridging’s mission matter?
“Our society is so good at producing stuff, and there are so many household goods in the world. The furnishings that are donated to Bridging have many more years of life in them. It’s important to make these items available to people who need them the most.”
What do you like best about working at Bridging?
“What I like most about working at Bridging is the people. Between clients, staff, and volunteers, I meet so many friendly, civic-minded, and hardworking people. I’m meeting people who are getting back on their feet, and it’s good to be a part of their journey.”
What’s most exciting about your new role?
“I like to meet the volunteers and staff. I have a lot of friends in Roseville because I worked on the team there. Now it’s exciting to meet new friends here in Bloomington. I also love answering questions and being a go-to person in the warehouse.”
What’s special about Bridging?
“The dignity of choice. We focus on giving people selection, so they can pick out the furnishings they want. This can be empowering for people.”
What do you like to do outside of Bridging?
“I like spending time with my fiancé. I’m into video games. I like going biking around the city. I love living in a city with so many parks to explore and so much to see.”
What’s a “fun fact” about you?
“I was a fencer in high school. It’s a unique sport that incorporates strategy and athleticism. Watching the matches in the Summer Olympics brought me back to the fun of fencing with my teammates!”
