Founder’s Celebration: Making a Home

“These photos [are] of my furniture in my finished apartment. I love it and I’m proud of it. My first apartment in my whole life, for myself.
Thank you so much for giving me this furniture when I was really in need. I didn’t have money to buy it for myself. I thank everyone who donated all these items!”
— Debra L., Bridging Client
For many, “home” signifies stability, comfort, and safety. But for those in our community who are pursuing housing stability, “home” often begins as an empty, unfurnished space. Many life circumstances, such as crisis, disaster, mental health, physical disabilities, lack of access to resources, or a host of other situations, can make establishing a furnished home feel out of reach and overwhelming.
This month, we proudly honor our founder’s vision that everyone deserves the joy and dignity of living in a furnished home. This has been the foundation of our work for 39 years.
Since Bridging was established in 1987, we have been dedicated to FURNISHING HOMES WITH HOPE, transforming over 125,000 empty spaces into warm living environments filled with pride and dignity. That translates to 372,000 friends and neighbors whom we have empowered on their journey to stable housing. And it makes a lasting impact.
Why? Because a furnished home offers stability, comfort, and hope for families and individuals, like Debra.
Now, more than ever, the demand for Bridging’s services is critical!
Fortunately, our community shows up in meaningful ways through donations of time, furniture, and household goods. But to meet our goal of serving 5,500 households this year, we also need financial contributions. Your support will help us distribute essential home furnishings efficiently and respond to increasing demand across our community.
Fran, our founder, frequently reminded us to ask ourselves, “What have you done to help others?” He believed that “when good people get together and do good things, then good things happen.”
Today, we urge you to join us in the spirit of “doing good” by supporting Bridging and making a difference in the lives of those in need. Your investment today will enable more members of our community to experience the joy and pride of living in a furnished home.
We deeply appreciate your partnership.
