The Tenth Annual SUBWAY® BEDRACE FOR BRIDGING, presented by Cities 97 in partnership with Slumberland Furniture took off at Buck Hill Saturday, March 8, 2008. Teams of four were invited to race down the tubing hill atop queen-sized mattresses. One hundred percent of registration fees and fundraising efforts benefited Bridging.
What an evening we had at the Tenth Annual Subway Bedrace for Bridging. A total of 147 teams collected pledges, came out to race, danced, enjoyed fireworks and had a great time. We raised over $91,000 through registrations, pledges and sponsorships. This will provide over 900 beds for kids who did not have a bed to sleep in last night.
This year was our best year financially and with 147 teams registered one of the most well attended. Ten years ago our first Subway Bedrace for Bridging at Buck Hill raised just $500. We have come a long way together, raising over $400,000 in ten years!
The energy and enthusiasm of all the participants and partners makes this an amazing event each year. Bridging is grateful to all of you for your continuing support. Thank you for joining in the fun. We hope to see you at next year’s races!
